The Cevis mid-point
meeting was successfully held in Pasaia in Spain
from 21-25 May 2007. The meeting was attended by a
large number of participants from the CEVIS
partnership. The meeting was primarily dedicated to
1) absorbing and reflecting on the insights
generated by the work carried out under work package
3 (International
Cases), and 2) planning for work packages 4 to 7
(dealing with European
Test Cases).

Several CEVIS partners attended the
CIEAF in Bergen from 26-28 September 2006. The
conference brought together scientists, government
administrators, fishery industry representatives,
NGOs and other interested parties to review concepts
and address implementation issues related to
applying the ecosystem approach to fisheries (EAF),
to exchange experiences made and constraints
encountered so far, and to identify strategies and
best practices that will facilitate further
implementation. CEVIS folders were made available to
the conference attendees and a CEVIS WP3 workshop
was held at the Institute for Marine Research in
Bergen after the conference.
